Trezor.io/Start | Starting® Up® Your® Device®

Welcome to the official starting guide for your Trezor® hardware wallet. This step-by-step walkthrough helps you get started securely and confidently.

Why Use Trezor® to Secure Your Crypto?

Trezor® hardware wallets offer unmatched security for your cryptocurrency assets. Unlike software wallets, Trezor® keeps your private keys offline, where they are protected from online attacks, phishing, malware, and keyloggers.

The Trezor Model One and Trezor Model T are trusted globally by crypto holders for cold storage and secure access.

Step 1: Go to Trezor.io/Start

Begin the setup process by manually entering the official address into your browser: Trezor.io/Start. Make sure the site loads securely and that you are not on a copycat or phishing domain. This is where you will download the official Trezor Suite and follow safe setup instructions.

Step 2: Unbox Your Trezor® Device

Open the package carefully and check for signs of tampering. A genuine Trezor® box should come with:

Important: Your device should never come with a pre-written recovery phrase or PIN. If it does, stop immediately.

Step 3: Install Trezor Suite

Trezor Suite is the official desktop application to manage your wallet. After visiting Trezor.io/Start, follow the instructions to download Trezor Suite for your operating system. It allows you to manage your coins, install firmware, and use advanced features securely.

Step 4: Connect and Initialize the Device

Plug your Trezor® into your computer using the USB cable. Launch Trezor Suite and follow the prompts. During this process, you will:

  1. Install the latest firmware (if required)
  2. Create a new wallet
  3. Write down your unique 12- or 24-word recovery seed on the recovery card
  4. Verify and confirm the seed by entering the words on the device

Warning: Never take a photo or save your seed phrase digitally. Keep it offline and private.

Step 5: Create a PIN Code

As an added layer of security, you’ll be prompted to create a strong PIN. This PIN is required every time you connect your Trezor®. Choose a code that is difficult to guess and never share it with anyone.

Step 6: Add Crypto Accounts

Using Trezor Suite, you can now choose the cryptocurrencies you wish to manage (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or others). Create wallet accounts for each asset. You will be able to send, receive, and track balances directly through the app.

Step 7: Start Using Your Trezor® Safely

To receive funds, generate a receiving address in Trezor Suite. Always verify the address directly on your Trezor® device screen before sharing it. To send funds, approve all transactions by physically confirming them on the device screen.
